  • What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Acupuncture treats a variety of conditions by triggering specific points on the skin with needles, it is a method which stimulates nerve-rich areas of the skin surface in order to influence tissues, organs, gland, and different functions of the body. TCM theory says that the human body has more than 400 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create flow of energy or Qi (pronounced Chee) through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of this flow of energy can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.
  • Why Acupuncture helps?
From TCM point of view Acupuncture stimulates the balance and flow of Qi (energy) which is essential in maintaining good health. When something obstructing Qi flow, and it’s not going smoothly through the body meridians that make up a network pathway throughout the entire body, that is when the person become susceptible to illness. Inserting needles into acupuncture points with appropriate combinations is bringing the energy flow back into proper balance. From medical point of view acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins – natural pain-relieving hormones and reduce pro-inflammatory markers which decreases inflammation and reduces pain to encourage natural healing. Therapeutic effect includes: Pain relief Energy increase Improved blood circulation Body function improvement
