Service Description

Cupping therapy - one of modalities in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which become mainstream in last years mostly in sport medicine, but it’s very beneficial for health improvement in regular life too. During cupping, I will put a flammable cotton ball with alcohol in a cup and set it on fire. As the fire goes out, I put the cup upside down on patient skin. As the air inside the cup cools, it creates a vacuum. This causes patient’s skin to rise and redden as blood vessels expand. The cup is generally left in place for up to 10 minutes. It can be done with glass cups and fire, or plastic (silicon) cups for kids. This process can leave circular bruises on the body. But they usually goes away in 5 to 7 days. In TCM theory, the intensity and severity of the bruising is an indication of the severity of the toxicity, stagnation or fever inside the body and it's great sigh of releasing it. Some people worry that using a cup as a vacuum on your skin will be painful, but the sensation can be described as a light to medium pressure. Cupping works by relieving stagnation. An old Chinese saying tells “Where there’s stagnation, there will be pain. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain.” By removing obstruction, improving blood flow, pull out the toxins that linger in the body's tissues cupping encourages the body to heal and regenerate. Book your treatment today and feel better soon!
